Set criteria in advance
Ask the assessor what documentation, visual checks and any sampling are required for your project. Discuss independence and applicable Texas requirements. Do not assume every project needs the same number of samples or that a laboratory sheet alone is the entire completion record.
Keep the handover complete
Request the final report, relevant moisture records and any required certificates. Clarify what happens if the work does not satisfy the agreed criteria, including responsibility for corrective work and a repeat visit. File these documents before reconstruction hides the cleaned area.
Arrange verification at the planning stage
The person checking the project should know the original findings and the agreed work. Ask when they need to inspect and whether any materials must remain accessible. Scheduling this only after a wall is rebuilt may make it harder to check what the project required.
Know what happens if more work is needed
Ask who communicates an unsatisfactory result, who performs corrections and how reinspection is charged. Keep the findings with the original scope. The purpose is to document whether agreed conditions were met, not to promise that no moisture problem can ever develop in the future.
- Agree criteria before work
- Confirm who verifies
- Collect completion records before rebuilding
